This blog isn’t usually that big on healthy eating but there’s an interesting article here at the Guardian website from Sociologist Sean Carey about transfats. It warns that “trans fats do not only block people’s arteries but the drains and sewage system, a hugely expensive problem for local authorities to put right”. The kind of food you can find these nasties in is fried chicken – which seems to be every other shop in South Ealing Road these days.

The article suggests that transfat vendors whould be punished. Could this be the edible version of the low emissions zone and the higher road tax for gas guzzlers?
