My observation that every Asian this side of Asia seems to be spouting off about Big Brother on tv broadcasts all over the shop now extends to radio. In case anyone’s interested a pal at University of East London forwarded me this invite to a debate on the whole sorry saga this Monday at the postmodern spaceship that is their Docklands campus. Looks like I am on the panel along with other assorted chancers. Be there or be somewhere else. It’ll all be on the wireless or rather wi-fi c/o BBC Asian Network apparently.

info – participants and audience need to be there at 5pm and the contact is Elizabeth Glinka [elizabeth.glinka@bbc.co.uk].Some high profile panellists on board – including Malik Meer (Guardian Guide editor), Gos Ghosal (former BB housemate), Kulveer Ranger (Conservative PPC), Karen Chauhan (anti-racism campaigner), Dr Rupa Huq (sociologist), Neil Simpson (Jade Goody’s biographer), Darra Singh (Chair, Integration and Cohesion Commission), someone from the Mayor of London’s office and UEL’s very own Ash Sharma! The event takes place from 5 pm in room EBG06. Places are limited so please register your interest – contact Elizabeth Glinka on elizabeth.glinka@bbc.co.uk or Dan on x 2194.

What would the other Mr Blair aka George Orwell have made of it all? His book has inspired 2 “Heat” generation tv show titles; the other being “Room 101” which doesn’t even need the word “Celebrity” in its title ‘cos it’s soooo bleeding obvious.

******Update – 1st Feb. There is a report up on the Blink website on this meeting refering to the lavatorial standard of remarks made (by me) and special guest star Rt Hon David Blunkett MP********
