Following last year’s popular “Guess where?” post here are some snaps of this year’s holiday destination where I was last week. The temperature was hot hot hot (35 degrees C most days).
Any Answers?

Good on you for taking the plunge (I think everyone else reluctant as lots of hits but just the one/ first comment). Not Malaysia though.

I’m guessing Italy, you’ve made it extra hard this time though. It is Rome, based on the 06 dialing code on one of the ads in the window.

Crikey Norman, that’s two years running. You are the champion of this. To know the phone prefix system in Italy is pretty impressive. The tube stop is Vittorio which seems to have it’s own Bangla-town. The only ref google is throwing up is here from 2009 calling it a “mixed” rather than “Bangladeshi” area:

How about Via Ricasoli (in Rome as norman has already worked out). One of the shop fronts is actually recognisable on Google Street View. Are there any prizes for answers to this competition?

I was expecting someone to say Brick Lane. People are getting too good at this! Paul: just googled the road as I didn’t know precise street name. Sounds about right. It was near a covered market with Bangla fish stall, I have another pic of Bengali barbers almost identical to last year’s one in Lavapies, Spain…

Anyone who thinks that’s Brick Lane hasn’t been to Brick Lane!
I would have guessed Italy from the Hogre pic!

Would have said Rome, but you inadvertently told me a few days ago. Have been there myself, but only for the day and then to the touristy places like the Trevi Fountain, the Colessium, the Appian Way, and The Vatican. The only time in my life where I think I technically entered another country simply by crossing the road (very quickly)

Yes, also did the tourist trail: Trevi Fountain, Forum and Vatican so is that kind of three countries if we count Bangla-town as one? Anyone know what the Hogre sub-Banksy stencil means?
