As quickly as they arrived it seemed that they were off. Friday saw a court case mounted by the Keens against the squatters who had taken over their house for two weeks. With the might of a QC behind them they won the Interim Possession Order they were seeking but the raggle taggle defendants (11 in all in the end) put up a spirited defence that attracted some praise of sorts from District Judge Stuart Plaskow. I thought some of their arguments were very compelling. Why should those who change the law to benefit themselves then benefit from its protection?
